Redmi 17C 5G Debuts in India with 6.9‑inch 120 Hz Screen, Massive 6,000 mAh Battery and 50 MP Camera from ₹20,999

Introducing the Redmi 17C 5G to Indian Consumers

Xiaomi widens its affordable 5G portfolio with the Redmi 17C 5G, a handset that combines a spacious display, high‑refresh‑rate fluidity, a gigantic battery and a competent MediaTek processor – all while staying well below the price of most rivals.

Price Points and Launch Details

The phone arrives in three eye‑catching colours – Coffee Brew, Dark Night and Purple Dawn. Buyers can choose between two memory setups:

  • 4 GB RAM + 128 GB internal storage for ₹20,999
  • 6 GB RAM + 128 GB internal storage for ₹22,999

Both variants will be available for order on 7 October through Amazon India and Xiaomi’s official online store.

Immersive 6.9‑Inch HD+ Panel

The Redmi 17C 5G features a 6.9‑inch LCD screen with a 720 × 1,600 pixel HD+ resolution. A 120 Hz refresh rate coupled with a 240 Hz touch‑sampling rate delivers ultra‑smooth scrolling and instantaneous touch response. In bright‑environment mode the panel can reach up to 810 nits, display 16.7 million colours and cover 83 % of the NTSC colour gamut.

It also holds TÜV Rheinland certifications for low blue‑light emission, flicker‑free operation and a circadian‑friendly mode, while an IP64 rating offers protection against dust and light splashes.

Performance, Memory and Expandability

Powering the device is MediaTek’s Dimensity 6300 octa‑core processor, clocked up to 2.4 GHz, paired with a Mali‑G57 MC2 GPU. The phone can be configured with up to 6 GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 128 GB of UFS 2.2 storage. Xiaomi’s virtual‑RAM feature can dynamically allocate an extra 6 GB of memory when required.

A dedicated microSD slot supports cards up to 1 TB for additional storage, and a side‑mounted fingerprint sensor provides quick biometric unlocking.

Camera Setup

Photography is led by a 50 MP rear sensor with an f/1.8 aperture, capable of capturing Full HD (1080p) video at 30 fps. The front‑facing 8 MP camera, sporting an f/2.0 lens, is suited for selfies and video calls.

The native camera app includes HDR, portrait, night, time‑lapse modes and a soft‑light ring effect to boost low‑light performance.

Battery Capacity and Fast Charging

A robust 6,000 mAh battery fuels the handset, and Xiaomi pairs it with 33 W wired fast charging to replenish power rapidly.

Connectivity, Sensors and Build Quality

The device supports both 5G and 4G LTE, dual‑band Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth 5.4 and a USB‑Type‑C port. Navigation is covered by GPS, GLONASS, Galileo and BeiDou. Onboard sensors include an ambient light sensor, accelerometer and electronic compass.

Measuring 171.56 × 79.47 × 7.99 mm and weighing approximately 211 g, the phone feels solid yet comfortable in hand.

Software Experience

Running on Android 16‑based Xiaomi HyperOS 3, the Redmi 17C 5G offers a clean, highly customizable UI while keeping the device up‑to‑date with the latest Android enhancements.

With its blend of a large 120 Hz display, Dimensity 6300 chipset, 50 MP camera and a 6,000 mAh battery, the Redmi 17C 5G presents a compelling proposition for budget‑savvy shoppers seeking a fully‑featured 5G smartphone.
