Arrests and confiscated weapons
The Crime Branch unit of Gurugram’s Farukhnagar division detained three young men suspected of orchestrating a large‑scale terror‑style operation in Delhi aimed at creating widespread panic. During the operation, investigators recovered two imported pistols along with five live cartridges.
The individuals taken into custody are:
- Abhay (alias Maulad), 20 – resident of Kheda Jhajhrola village.
- Jatin (alias Jony), 29 – hailing from Patel Nagar, Sonipat.
- Sagar – also a resident of Kheda Jhajhrola.
All three have been charged under the Arms Act at the Sector‑10 police station.
Sequence of the raids
Separate teams cornered the suspects at different sites. Abhay was apprehended near the Garhi flyover on the New Pataudi‑Gurugram Road, Jatin was seized in Farukhnagar, and Sagar was intercepted close to the KMP within the same locality. While trying to evade capture, Sagar attempted to leap from a flyover, broke his leg and was subsequently taken to a hospital for treatment. Further legal proceedings will follow his discharge.
Investigation into the arms supply chain
Interrogations indicated that Abhay obtained the pistols from Jatin. Detectives are now tracing the origin of Jatin’s firearms, with early leads suggesting the weapons passed through additional intermediaries.
Police suspect the trio maintained communication with contacts abroad, possibly receiving directives for illicit fund recovery and extortion schemes. The alleged plan was to carry out a high‑impact crime in Delhi to sow terror, though the exact targets remain under investigation.
Broader network under scrutiny
Authorities are mapping the entire supply chain that delivered the weapons to the accused, examining phone records and hunting for other participants in the conspiracy.
Records also show that Jatin faces a separate case in Delhi under the Excise Act, prompting officials to review his prior dealings as part of the current probe.
ACP Naveen Sharma stressed that the investigation continues to uncover the firearm source, the wider network, and any additional criminal connections linked to the arrested men. The case remains active, with further updates expected as interrogations progress and new leads are verified.
